The Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) has unveiled Flux Echo, a multimodal innovation engine designed to move development solutions from ideas and experimentation to measurable impact for marginalised and hard-to-reach communities across Africa.
The initiative was unveiled by the keynote speaker at the Gender and Inclusion Summit 2026, President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire and former Prime Minister, Patrick Achi, during a cocktail and conversation event held in his honour in Abuja.
Achi commended PIC for investing in solutions capable of preparing Africa’s next generation to confront emerging challenges, stressing Nigeria’s strategic responsibility to the continent.
“It’s a whole West African region that is watching Nigeria to move for them to follow, for the whole continent to change,” he said.
The former Ivorian Prime Minister further declared: “The day Nigeria awakened, the continent would change.”
He urged PIC and its partners to sustain the initiative, expressing confidence that practical innovation could help unlock Africa’s enormous potential.

In an exclusive interview with Voice of Nigeria, Flux Echo, Lead, Innovations Lab at PIC, Christopher Agbajogu, said the platform brings together the Innovation Lab, Behavioural Innovation Lab and Storytelling Lab, supported by technology and measurement and evaluation systems.
He said the system enables teams to design, build, test, refine and communicate solutions capable of producing measurable behavioural change.
“We’re away from a talk show,” Agbajogu said, emphasising PIC’s shift from discussing problems to building and testing practical solutions.
According to him, agile teams are assembled around specific problem areas and taken through intensive sprints or hackathons to develop solutions that can be immediately tested and improved before deployment.
He said Flux Echo deliberately focuses on the last mile and marginalised groups, whose needs are often overlooked in conventional interventions.
Agbajogu identified cost, technological disparities and inadequate infrastructure as barriers limiting the effectiveness of existing solutions.
“We’re redesigning, and we’re redesigning intentionally using specific frameworks,” he said, adding that protocols are developed for every problem area to promote continuous innovation.
Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG, Dr Tayo Aduloju, said the initiative comes as Africa confronts profound economic and geopolitical changes.
“West Africa must rediscover the power of our regional leadership, our economic cooperation, and our collective ambition to build the continent of our dreams,” he said.
