Police reiterates commitment to end banditry, criminality

The Niger State Police Command in North Central Nigeria has reassured people in the state of the Command’s relentless efforts to end banditry and other criminality .

The Police Commissioner in the state CP Monday Bala Kuryas stated this on Friday after the release of the Niger state commissioner of information Mohammed Sani Idris by his abductors

CP Kuryas further reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensure that other victims of abductions in captivity of hoodlums are equally rescued unhurt.

The police Commissioner who further confirmed that the Information Commissioner was successfully rescued unhurt, urged members of the public to always volunteer information and intelligence to the Police for prompt intervention and proactiveness.

It would be recalled that the Commissioner for information was abducted by unknown gunmen in his residence at Babban-Tunga village, Tafa Local government area of Niger state in North-central Nigeria on the 8 of August 2021.

“Upon the receipt of the incident, the Command immediately mobilized a joint Police, military, and vigilante team to the area for manhunt of the hoodlums with a view to rescue the victim and arrest the culprits”.

” As a result of sustained pressure and trailing of the hoodlums by the joint team, the victim was released by the abductors on 12/08/2021 at about 2130hrs and surfaced at Kofa Dam area of Tafa Local government, where he was debriefed and immediately taken to a hospital for medical attentionCP Kuryas added.
