President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Muhammad Ali, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a distinguished journalist and administrator whose leadership has strengthened the mandate and national relevance of the country’s foremost news agency.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Ali’s contributions to journalism and public communication, noting that his extensive experience, professional skills and influential network have helped reposition NAN as a credible source of information within and beyond Nigeria.

The President acknowledged the NAN MD’s efforts in bridging the gap between citizens, government institutions and the private sector through strategic coverage of national and international events, as well as the promotion of specialised reporting on key sectors and government programmes.

President Tinubu also commended Ali’s leadership in enhancing the agency’s visibility and global engagement.

“I commend Ali, the management, and staff of the agency for sustaining the mandate of Africa’s leading news agency.

“As Ali celebrates his diamond jubilee, I pray that God will grant him continued good health, strength, and wisdom for more years of meritorious service to the nation.” He added.
