Governors and business leaders accompanying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 2026 Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, have offered special prayers for Nigeria’s economic prosperity, lasting peace and national stability.

The prayers, offered inside the Holy Kaaba, reflected the delegation’s collective aspirations for sustained economic growth, national unity and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria and its constituent states.

Speaking on the significance of the spiritual engagement, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Monday in Saudi Arabia, described the opportunity to enter the Kaaba as a rare privilege, particularly at a critical period in Nigeria’s history.

Governor Sani said “the delegation devoted the occasion to seeking divine intervention for national peace, unity and harmony, expressing confidence that their supplications would receive Allah’s blessings.”

He said: “Actually, this is a lifetime wish for every Muslim because it’s a rare privilege and of course, what is more important as a Muslim and getting this very rare opportunity to enter Kaaba and pray at this critical moment in the history of our country, because we seized this opportunity most importantly to pray for our country, to pray for the unity of our country, to pray for the peace of our country and I believe this is the right time for that.”

The Governor also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for extending the opportunity to members of his entourage, describing the gesture as a demonstration of leadership and goodwill.

Similarly, the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni emphasised the importance of the spiritual exercise to Nigeria’s collective well-being, noting that the delegation prayed for peace, prosperity and stability across the federation.

Governor Buni described entry into the Holy Kaaba as a lifetime spiritual achievement, stressing that such an opportunity remained a rare privilege granted by Almighty Allah.

He said: “And as we are privileged to enter Kaaba today, we are also privileged also to pray for the country, our states, for peace, prosperity, and stability.”

Also speaking, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Matrix Group, Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, offered prayers for Nigeria’s economic advancement and prosperity under President Tinubu’s administration.

Aliu, who described his entry into the Kaaba as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition, also prayed for divine guidance, good health and continued blessings for the President.

He said: “Alhamdulillah, this is a lifetime ambition. I have always prayed that I want to enter the Kaaba, and Alhamdulillah, under the leadership of our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it happened, and I pray, Allah Subhana Wa Taala, to continue to guide him, to bless him, to grant him good health, and to make Nigeria a prosperous country under his regime.”

The spiritual engagement formed part of President Tinubu’s 2026 Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, during which he and members of his delegation were granted access to the Holy Kaaba for prayers.
