The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requires another four years in office to consolidate his administration’s economic reforms, deepen ongoing development initiatives and deliver further results for Nigerians.
Professor Yilwatda stated this in his welcome address at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Wednesday at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, where he outlined the party’s priorities and strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We will ask Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 because we believe the administration’s reform agenda and development priorities deserve continued consideration and the opportunity to deliver further results.

“Our task is to make that case convincingly with evidence of progress, a clear explanation of our policies and a practical account of what remains to be achieved,” he said.

The APC National Chairman explained that the party’s campaign would be anchored on the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure development and policy achievements, while acknowledging existing challenges and presenting a clear vision for sustained national development.
He highlighted that the campaign must demonstrate how government policies and investments in roads, power, gas, railways, ports, agricultural infrastructure and digital connectivity are contributing to economic growth and improving the lives of Nigerians.
Professor Yilwatda further emphasised the importance of addressing citizens’ immediate concerns, noting that the campaign must go beyond highlighting achievements to explaining how the administration intends to tackle prevailing socioeconomic challenges.
“We must engage citizens on the issues that matter to them: the cost of living, security, jobs, education, healthcare, agricultural productivity and economic opportunity. We must explain how the administration intends to address these concerns and listen carefully to the expectations Nigerians place before us,” he said.
On campaign organisation, the APC National Chairman charged the Presidential Campaign Council to provide strategic direction, effective coordination and clearly defined responsibilities, urging governors, legislators, party leaders and campaign officials to work collectively in mobilising support across the country.

Professor Yilwatda also mentioned the importance of inclusive political participation, particularly among women, young people and persons with disabilities, stressing that their contributions must be reflected in meaningful engagement and leadership throughout the campaign.
Referencing opposition political parties, the APC National Chairman acknowledged the rainbow coalition, describing their roles as legitimate roles in Nigeria’s democratic process and called for a peaceful, respectful and issues-based electoral contest centred on policies, performance and competing visions for the country’s future.
He affirmed that the APC would present its achievements with verifiable facts, clearly articulate its development priorities and respect the right of Nigerians to determine their preferred leadership through a credible democratic process.
