President Bola Tinubu has directed the nation’s security chiefs to intensify operations aimed at rescuing all citizens held captive by terrorists, bandits and kidnappers, while ensuring the complete dismantling of criminal hideouts and operational camps across the country.
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), stated this on Thursday while briefing State House Correspondents following an extensive security meeting presided over by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to the Defence Minister, the President made it clear that no terrorist or bandit enclave should be allowed to remain operational, insisting that security agencies must deploy the necessary capabilities to locate and rescue victims held in captivity.
“The directive from the President is: all of us must go all out to fish out and rescue all those that have been abducted, kidnapped, wherever they are,” Musa stated.
He further emphasised the administration’s determination to eliminate the operational bases of terrorist and bandit groups, declaring that “There shouldn’t be any camp of any terrorist or bandits anywhere in Nigeria.”
The Minister assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces and other security institutions were fully committed to implementing the President’s directives through sustained military operations, improved intelligence coordination and strengthened inter-agency collaboration.

Musa also acknowledged the President’s continued support for improved welfare packages for military personnel, including recent salary increases, while assuring that the welfare concerns of other security agencies and pensioners were receiving attention.
He urged Nigerians to support security operations by volunteering credible intelligence on suspicious activities, stressing that the responsibility for safeguarding lives and maintaining peace required collective participation.
The Minister reaffirmed the determination of the country’s security leadership to work collectively towards restoring lasting peace, dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safe return of Nigerians still held in captivity.
