President Tinubu Urges Unity, Compassion at Eid al-Adha

President Bola Tinubu has called on Muslims and all Nigerians to use the occasion of the Eid al-Adha festival to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, support the less privileged and pray for peace, stability and national progress.

Felicitating Muslims on the Eid al- Adha celebration in a personally signed message, President Tinubu described the Islamic festival as a reminder of the enduring virtues of faith, obedience and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, whose willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, remains a symbol of total submission to the will of God.

The President extended warm felicitations to Muslims, thanking Almighty God for preserving lives to witness another Eid celebration, while urging Nigerians to embrace compassion, unity and selflessness as Muslims across the world celebrate the 2026 festival.

President Tinubu noted that one of the central lessons of Eid all-Adha is the need to show mercy and compassion to all humanity regardless of race, ethnicity or religious affiliation.

To our Muslim faithful, I urge you to use this sacred occasion to pray for our country, for peace in our communities, and for wisdom for those in leadership.

“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law.

“Let us also reach out to the less privileged, share with our neighbours, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us as one people,” he said.

President Tinubu who said Nigeria is on a journey of reconstruction and renewal highlighted that the reforms undertaken by the administration are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations.

The Nigerian Leader expressed optimism that the sacrifices made by Nigerians and his administration over the past three years were beginning to yield positive results.

He assured that the country now enjoys a more stable economy and growing investor confidence capable of driving job creation and economic growth.

Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.

“I am confident that, by the Grace of God, the reforms we have diligently pursued will continue to yield improved security and greater opportunities for all.” President Tinubu explained

Security

On security, the President acknowledged the continued attacks by terrorists and bandits in some communities despite ongoing military and intelligence operations, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader.

He assured affected communities that the government remains resolute in defeating forces threatening national peace and stability.

“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies—including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader—heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities. I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil.

“My administration remains committed to building a Nigeria where all citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their dreams without fear.

“We will continue to invest in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital to fulfil the great promise of our great nation,” the President noted.

Peaceful Nigeria

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful and inclusive Nigeria where citizens can worship freely and pursue their aspirations without fear,.

He noted that government would continue to invest in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development.

President Tinubu wished Nigerians a peaceful, joyous and blessed Eid al-Adha celebration and prayed that God would accept the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful while continuing to bless the nation.
