Qatar Plans New Defence Production Hub

Qatar is preparing to announce a new defence production hub as the Gulf Arab state seeks to strengthen its domestic defence capabilities through partnerships with regional and international partners.

The Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, disclosed this at the Global Security Forum in Doha.

“We are partnering with a regional partner, in addition to other partners such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, to make sure either we do local protection or we are investing in some of these companies.” Al Thani said.
