The Renewed Hope Ambassadors have staged a “Walk to Victory” rally in Osogbo, Osun State capital, in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
The group marched from the Aiyetoro area through Igbona Market, Old Garage and Olaiya bus stop before terminating the rally at the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo.
The Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Sunday Akere, said the rally was organised to demonstrate the group’s support for Oyebamiji and sensitise residents to the need for political change in the state.
Akere expressed confidence that voters would support the APC candidate, citing the group’s structure of more than 95,000 members across the state.
He said the turnout at the rally was evidence of growing support for Oyebamiji, whom he described as a candidate capable of focusing on development and effective service delivery.
Akere said the group was not relying on the influence of the Nigerian government to secure victory for the APC candidate, stressing that the mobilisation was aimed at reaching voters directly.
Meanwhile, the Director of Security of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun, Amos Adekunle Victor, called for a peaceful and violence-free election.
He urged voters to come out and exercise their franchise, assuring them that adequate security would be provided on election day.
“Be rest assured that it’s going to be peaceful. Security will be available, the votes will be counted, and the votes will count,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr Romoke Abiola said women across the state would mobilise support for the APC candidate, adding that women in all 30 local government areas and the area office would participate in the election.
She described Oyebamiji as productive and resourceful, saying the AMBO campaign represented productivity and prosperity, which, she argued, should be embraced by women across Osun State.
