The Rivers State Government in southern Nigeria has commended the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for the far-reaching impact of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment Programme, describing it as a lifeline for vulnerable Nigerians across the country.
The State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by the First Lady’s delegation to the Government House in Port Harcourt, ahead of the Renewed Hope Initiative programme in Rivers State.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, the Governor praised Mrs Tinubu for championing intervention programmes that directly benefit ordinary Nigerians, particularly women and vulnerable groups, without bureaucratic bottlenecks.
Welcoming the delegation, Governor Fubara described Rivers State as peaceful and hospitable, while expressing appreciation for the First Lady’s visit and commitment to humanitarian service.
Governor Fubara noted that the Wife of President Tinubu has distinguished herself as “a compassionate national figure whose programmes continue to make meaningful impacts in communities nationwide.”

“We cannot overemphasise the impact Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is making across the country,” he stated.
Governor Fubara also appreciated the leader of the delegation, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, for representing the First Lady and bringing the initiative closer to Rivers people.
According to him, residents of the state were enthusiastic about the programme and eager to benefit from its numerous empowerment and welfare packages.
“We thank you for standing by Rivers State and for giving us all the desired and deserved support. Like Oliver Twist, we will ask for more,”the Governor added.
Mrs. Tinubu, represented by Betta Edu, said the visit was inspired by her deep concern for humanity, especially women, vulnerable citizens, and disadvantaged Nigerians.
She reassured the people of Rivers of her continuous support and goodwill, while stressing that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to the growth and development of Rivers State.
The First Lady also commended the achievements of the Siminalayi Fubara administration, particularly at the grassroots level, expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope Initiative would further improve the living conditions of citizens and accelerate development across the state.
