Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to visit China shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent trip to Beijing, according to reports from Moscow.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Russian state media outlet TASS on Friday, said arrangements for the visit had been completed and mutually approved.

He noted that an official announcement would be made “very, very soon” in coordination with Beijing, stressing that Moscow did not want to rush the process.
Earlier, the South China Morning Post, citing anonymous sources, reported that the trip could take place on May 20. However, China’s Foreign Ministry declined to confirm the date.
Trump left Beijing on Friday after a multi-day state visit to China.
Putin’s last visit to Beijing was last year, when he attended a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
