Russian Strike on Ukraine Depot Kills 38

Thirty-eight people have died and four remain missing after a Russian strike hit an ammunition depot in Ukraine’s Kyiv region.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called it the deadliest attack on the capital area this year.

The strike hit a facility storing artillery amid Moscow’s intensified assault on Kyiv.

President Zelenskiy said first responders had extinguished most fires, though contamination remained significant and cleanup would continue.

He shared footage showing firefighters battling blazes and clearing debris from destroyed buildings.

Russia launched nearly 2,000 strike drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs and 31 missiles including North Korean ballistic missiles at Ukraine, Zelenskiy said, describing it as an escalating pattern of attacks.

“We are seeking just responses to every Russian strike and crime,” Zelenskiy said.
