South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit> has dismissed the Governor of the country’s central bank, Johnny Ohisa, in the latest round of high-level government reshuffles aimed at reorganising senior leadership.
President Kiir announced Ohisa’s removal and replacing him with Addis Ababa Othow who previously served as central bank governor between June and November last year.
No official reason was given for the dismissal.

The latest move comes amid a series of changes in senior government positions in recent months, which political analysts say reflect efforts by the president to consolidate power amid uncertainty over political succession.
Ohisa, an economist, had been reappointed as central bank governor earlier this year after previously serving two separate terms in the position.
South Sudan continues to grapple with severe economic challenges, including declining oil revenues, persistent cash shortages, rising inflation and the depreciation of its national currency.
