Turkey Searches For Crew After Cargo Ship Sinks

Turkish authorities are searching for 10 crew members who went missing after a cargo ship sank off Istanbul following a collision with another vessel.

According to reports, two Turkish-flagged commercial vessels collided in the Sea of Marmara off Istanbul.

One of the ships, carrying 10 crew members, is believed to have sunk about 11 minutes after the collision.

Search operations involving the coast guard, navy, disaster management agency and other emergency services are underway.

Reports say the search involves 18 vessels, five helicopters, two drones, an aircraft and a naval vessel equipped for underwater operations.

The second ship remains undamaged and anchored off Silivri, as authorities investigate the cause of the collision.
