The Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff, Kyrylo Budanov, says the country is preparing for trilateral talks with Russia and the United States to resume in October.
He disclosed this while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital.
“We are getting ready. In October,” Budanov stated.

Budanov spoke days after U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held talks in Moscow and Kyiv, their first visits to the two capitals in months.
Witkoff said after the visits that “they welcomed new momentum in proceeding with talks.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that the envoys presented some “very decent, worthwhile ideas,” suggesting Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland or other countries could host a new trilateral meeting.
The last such meeting took place in Geneva in February, but talks later stalled as Washington focused on the conflict with Iran.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow did not rule out resuming peace talks but said it was too early to determine when or where they might take place.
