The Unity Cup has been announced as a FIFA Tier 1 event, marking a major milestone for the tournament and reinforcing its growing international profile ahead of next week’s competition at Charlton Athletic’s home ground, the Valley, in London, England.
Tournament organisers welcomed the FIFA Tier 1 designation as a significant step forward for the competition, ensuring participating fixtures carry full international recognition under FIFA regulations.
The Unity Cup celebrates football, culture and diaspora communities in London. This year’s competition will feature four international teams: Nigeria, Jamaica, India and Zimbabwe, competing across two semi-finals and a finals day between 26th-30th May.
The opening semi-final will see Nigeria face Zimbabwe on 26th May, followed by Jamaica against India on 27th May, with the third-place play-off and final taking place on 30th May.
