VON DG Urges Unity, Positive Narratives on Independence

The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mallam Jibrin Ndace, has called on Nigerians to remain united, resilient and committed to nation-building as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Ndace, in his Independence Day message, said the occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey while celebrating the courage, resilience and unity of its people.“On this Independence Day, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and unity of our great nation,” he said.

The VON Director-General also paid tribute to the founding fathers of the organisation, describing them as visionaries who established a platform dedicated to shaping positive narratives about Nigeria and Africa.

“We also pay tribute to the founding fathers of the Voice of Nigeria. They were visionaries who established a platform dedicated to shaping positive narratives for Nigeria and Nigerians, Africa and Africans,” Ndace said.

He said their legacy remained an inspiration to VON as the organisation continues to amplify African stories and promote values that contribute to national development.

“Their legacy continues to inspire us as we strive to amplify our stories, uphold our values, and build a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.

Ndace further called for sustained efforts to promote Nigeria’s prosperity, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the five-point agenda of the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

“In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and guided by the 5-Point Agenda of the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, we must continue to promote our country for prosperity and for future generations by building and sustaining positive narratives,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their commitment to national unity and progress.
“Let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of national unity and progress,” Ndace said.

The VON Director-General congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary and wished the country continued peace, unity and prosperity.

“Happy 66th Independence Day! God bless Nigeria,” he said.
