A virtual meeting of the National Economic Council, NEC, is ongoing with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presiding from his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting which began at 11.00 am Nigerian time is holding on the fourth Thursday of the month instead of the third when previous meetings of the Council were held.
This followed the cancellation of the NEC meeting last week.
At the last meeting of the NEC, the Executive Secretary of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, presented a report on the distribution of the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines across the states in Nigeria.
The meeting of the council this month may further review the distribution of the vaccines and the number of Nigerians that have been vaccinated.
The issue of insecurity may also be on the agenda of the meeting.
