Wike vows to complete all ongoing projects in FCT

By Hudu Yakubu Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that no infrastructure project will be abandoned under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Wike gave the assurance on Thursday after inspecting the ongoing construction of the dual carriageway from Nile University to Ring Road III in Abuja.

He also inspected the full-scale development of Arterial Road N1, linking Wuye District to Ring Road II.

The minister reaffirmed the administration’s zero-tolerance policy on abandoned projects, stressing that most of the ongoing infrastructure would be completed and delivered to residents before the end of December.

He said the Tinubu administration remained committed to ending the long-standing culture of abandoned public projects in the FCT.

“I have said before that no project will be abandoned under President Tinubu’s administration, and we are keeping that promise.

“This forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to clearing the backlog of stalled infrastructure projects and fulfilling its promises to FCT residents.

“Look at the projects awarded as far back as 2010. We have completed most of them and are making steady progress on the remaining ones,” he said.

Wike also assured residents that the N20 Bridge over the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway would be completed as scheduled.

“Is there any project we have started and abandoned? We are ensuring that every ongoing project is completed, and those awarded by this administration will also be delivered. “Be patient; every project will be completed,” he assured.

The minister commended the contractors for the quality and pace of work on the ongoing infrastructure projects across the FCT.
