Yemen’s armed forces, aligned with the internationally recognised government, announced on Sunday that they are conducting strikes against Iran-backed Houthi forces in Sanaa, the capital, and in Saada.
A military spokesperson said the forces were targeting what he described as “vital targets” but provided no further details.
A source earlier reported an attack on Sanaa, which it said was carried out by Saudi Arabia. Riyadh did not immediately confirm the report.
Fighting between the Iran-backed Houthis and forces aligned with the Saudi-backed government largely subsided after a 2022 truce but has resumed amid the wider conflict between Iran and the United States.

Saudi Arabia has responded with air strikes in Yemen while supporting government forces seeking to push back the Houthis.
