Zeberced Plans Annual Training for 2,000 Nigerian Youths

Zeberced Group has announced plans to establish a Technical and Vocational Training School that will admit about 2,000 young Nigerians annually, as part of efforts to expand technical skills development and support industrial growth in the country.

The company said the initiative is expected to create up to 40,000 direct jobs through its wider industrial expansion programme.

Managing Director of Zeberced Group, Mr Adil Aydin Kurt, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, to the company’s facilities at the Abuja Industrial Park Free Zone.

Mr Kurt said the proposed institution would provide practical training in Construction Technology, Machine and Design Technology, Motor Vehicle Technology, Plumbing Technology, Metal Technology, Furniture Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Technology.

According to him, the school is being established to equip young Nigerians with industry-relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

“Zeberced is currently working on a vocational training school which will offer training in various fields to young Nigerians and, in the process, provide 40,000 direct jobs. This is going to be a sample project and is presently the biggest operation of its kind in West Africa,” he said.

Mr Kurt said the company also plans to establish a football academy aimed at identifying and nurturing talented children and young people for professional opportunities.

He added that Zeberced intends to expand its investments in manufacturing and industrial infrastructure, including plans to facilitate the establishment of factories within the Idu Industrial Area to boost local production and employment.

The Managing Director said the company’s industrial development project, which began about 15 years ago, has continued to progress despite operational challenges.

He reaffirmed Zeberced’s commitment to long-term investment in skills development, manufacturing and technology.

“We are very serious about our work. We need to bring qualified people from different parts of the world to Nigeria because the future is Africa,” Mr Kurt said.

Responding, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, commended the company’s investment in vocational education and youth empowerment, saying the proposed training institution could help tackle unemployment by equipping young people with practical skills.

She also briefed the company’s management on the Council’s Congress Hall project and appealed for support towards its completion.

Mr Kurt expressed the company’s willingness to support initiatives that promote institutional development and capacity building.

The visit ended with both organisations expressing interest in strengthening collaboration in skills development, industrial growth and professional training.

Zeberced Group has operated in Nigeria since 2007, with investments in manufacturing, construction and industrial infrastructure.
