Niger State Governor warns against campaign of calumny

The Governor of Niger State in North Central Nigeria Abubakar Sani Bello has warned against campaigns of calumny and thuggery ahead of the 2023 General elections in the country.

The Governor who stated this in a New Year message emphasised the need for issues-based campaigns among all political gladiators and party loyalists.

The Governor who also acknowledged the declining banditry activities across the troubled parts of the state paid glowing tribute to the gallantry of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for the sustained fight against the menace.

While wishing citizens a blissful New Year, Governor Sani Bello prayed for the sustenance of peace and unity in the state and country stressing that the collective prosperity of a people was uncompromisingly dependent on their unity and peaceful coexistence.

“As we enter the New Year, let us look up to 2023 with hope and remain tolerant and committed to the collective ideals that would make the new year a promising and fulfilled one”, added Gov Sani Bello

The Governor who gave the assurance that people would remain the central focus of the APC-led administration in the state and at the centre noted that based on its performance so far, the ruling party remains the most viable option in the State.

The Governor maintained that, although the administration is winding down, the government remains focused and committed to completing most of the ongoing projects stressing that “service delivery, improvement of the general living conditions and well-being of the people remains sacrosanct”.

The Governor who urged Niger State residents to remain hopeful because the challenges are surmountable said the outgoing year was tough in terms of security and economic challenges, amidst heightened political activities ahead of the 2023 general elections.
