Nigeria has recorded 179 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of persons who have tested positive in the country to 161,074.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this via its official Twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the 179 new cases were from 19 states. Lagos state reported the highest number with 47 new cases, Kaduna was second with 21 while Gombe and Sokoto states had the lowest with 1 new case each.

The NCDC also tweeted that as of 16 March, 161,074 cases had been confirmed, 146,072 cases treated and discharged, while 2,018 deaths were recorded.
