NYSC Gets Commendation for Contributing To National Development

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Nigeria has been commended for its contributions to national development.

This is comimg as the scheme prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The Executive Director of What Next Africa, Mr Temitope Ogunlusi gave the commendation during the presentation of fifty laptop computers to NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u which is to enhance the smooth operations of the Scheme.

The organization also commended  the contributions of NYSC in the areas of education, health, rural development and other sectors in the last fifty years.

Mr Ogunlusi described Corps Members as good role models to the young ones who needs the support of every stakeholder.

He said the organisation prepares students for post-secondary life

He said there was the need to stem the tide of challenges from transiting from teenage to adulthood.

During the presentation, the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka described What Next Africa as a Trans- Continental organisation that prioritizes career development, guidance and counselling of Secondary School students, but decided to add value to the human capital development of the NYSC.

While appreciating the donor on behalf of the Scheme, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed promised the effective utilization of the computers.
