The remaining nine All Progressives Congress’ Local Government Chairmen have joined the first two to affirm Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje’s expulsion from the party in Gombe State.
The support follows the expulsion, which was carried out by Senator Goje’s APC Ward in Kashere, Akko Local Government Area, then supported by his senatorial district in Akko and Yamaltu Deba Local Government Areas.
According to the APC Kashere Ward Chairman, Mr. Tanimu Abdullahi, Goje’s expulsion from the party was reached after investigations revealed his anti-party activities.
Mr. Abdullahi also said all attempts to get Senator Goje to appear before the committee of inquiry failed, because he refused to turn up to clear himself of the allegations.
The remaining nine LGAs joining in endorsing Goje’s sack, all 11 LGAs in Gombe have all supported the move, affirming their support for Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, as the leader of the party in the state.
The alleged anti-party activities labeled against Senator Goje border on his open support to opposition party candidates by hosting some of their candidates at his residence, against the interest of the APC, unguarded statements,
Speaking with journalists across the LGAs, the chairmen in Billiri, Gombe, Akko, Yamaltu Deba, Kaltungo, Shongom, Dukku, Nafada, Dukku, Funakaye, and Balanga all applauded the decision of the Kashere Ward Executives, saying Governor Yahaya remained the State Leader of the party.
In Billiri LGA, the APC Chairman, Mr. Isiaka Zakari, said disciplinary actions will be taken against erring party members and officials who conducted anti-party activities during the 2023 general election.
According to Mr. Zakari, such measures will help in entrench discipline and sanitize the party from “unscrupulous and double faced-elements in the party.”
Similarly in Gombe LGA, the APC Chairman, Mr. Abubakar Danladi, said the charge against Senator Goje was a grave misconduct of anti-party activities and would not be condoned.
Danladi said the APC would not allow unpatriotic people to pull the party down through any acts to undermine its success, internal cohesion and unity.
He said such activities were capable of undermining the progress of the party and causing serious harm to the party’s unity.
In Kaltungo, Mr. Ayuba Hassan, the APC Chairman expressed unreserved confidence in the leadership and stewardship of Governor Yahaya as the leader of the party in Gombe State and that his members were in support of Goje’s expulsion.
“The leaders and its Executive members support and endorse completely and without any reservation the decision of the APC Kashere ward Executive Committee to expel Goje for his shameful and unpardonable conduct of anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections,” said Mr. Hassan.
