A Social Cultural Group in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has condemned the relocation of the State Election Tribunal to Abuja the nation’s capital.

The Group said the relocation is both economically and securely disadvantaged to the people of the State.

The Group also Known as Umuekumenyi  Youth Organisation, under the leadership of Uchenna Alega, said the relocation is not in the best interest of the Ebonyi people.

“Ebonyi State is not in crisis, nor has any member of the tribunal been intimidated or attacked. We wonder what would have warranted the relocation but whatever the reason might be, we condemned it in its entirety”.

The Group called on the relevant authorities like the National Judicial Commission, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, President Court of Appeal and others to consider their plight and move the tribunal back to Ebonyi State.

Also speaking during the Press conference was Mr Victor Chukwu who said the Group represents the voices of the Ebonyi people and as such, the relevant bodies in the Judiciary should consider the yearnings of the masses.
