Assembly Passes Speedy Administration Of Justice Bill In Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed the state Superior Courts of Record Law Amendment Bill, increasing the number of High Courts Judges from 20 to 30, for speedy administration of justice.

This followed the adoption of a motion by the Majority Leader of the House, Alhaji Tanko Tunga during plenary on Tuesday in Lafi. The motion was seconded by Mr Abel Bala, the Minority Leader.

The House thereafter unanimously passed the bill.

Speaking shortly after, the Speaker, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, said that “the bill if assented to by Gov. Abdullahi Sule would promote peace and increase the number of High Courts Judges from 20 to 30 to ensure speedy administration of justice in the state.

He directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
