FCT Councils Poll: APC aspirant vows to consolidate on existing achievements

One of the leading contenders for the All Progressives Congress, APC, aspirants for Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, FCT, in the forthcoming FCT Area Council elections, Hon Suleiman Gwagwa has promised to consolidate on the achievements already in place, if elected as the chairman.
Alhaji Gwagwa stated this shortly after he picked his nomination form at the APC State Secretariat in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.
When asked about his choice of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Gwagwa noted that he was convinced that the only party that would lead them to victory in the election.
According to him, “I will consolidate on the past achievement put in place by Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido’s-led administration, as the council chairman.
“I am aspiring to be the chairman to continue with the good work the present Chairman, Candido has done. He has done well, so if elected in the forthcoming election we will consolidate on the structures he had put in place”.
The AMAC chairmanship aspirant who was accompanied by a large number of supporters said his key areas of interest will be infrastructure development, education and health.
According to him, what AMAC residents need had been put in place but will only be expanded so that the residents would enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Gwagwa said he was contesting to work for AMAC people, bring about more peace and unity across the whole wards.
“Whoever emerges as the party’s candidate should carry everybody along, politics is a game, not a do-or-die affair. My message for my people is, we should move in peace especially during the campaign” he said.
Alhaji Gwagwa called on all the aspirants to support any of them that emerges winner of the primary to ensure the victory of the party ahead of the Chairmanship elections in February 2022.
He urged the party chieftains to conduct one of the best primaries amongst aspirants vying for the position.
He then enjoined the party supporters to conduct themselves and shun all form of violence before, during and after the primary and by extension the FCT February 2022 elections.
