Kwara Government begins distribution of Face Masks in schools

The Kwara State Government has called on residents of the state to continue to take precautions against COVID-19 pandemic .

The Chairman Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19 and Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi made the call just as the state flagged off the distribution of 50,000 face masks donated by Mikano International to schools in the state.

The Deputy Governor expressed  appreciation to Mikano International for it’s donation of the face masks.

According to him, it will boost the efforts of the state government in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

He added that it also shows that the company cares for the school children and urged the people of the state to continue to protect themselves .

The Deputy Governor warned that the people of the state should not think everything is over yet.

The four schools picked across the three senatorial districts for the flag off were: Banni Community Secondary School Ilorin; Government High School Ilorin; Idofian Secondary School and UMCA Secondary School Jebba.

On  her part, the Permanent Secretary Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development,  Mary Adeosun promised that the ministry would continue to monitor schools and ensure compliance in line with Covid-19 protocols.

“We are here this morning to receive the face masks donated to the state by Mikano International in recognition of the efforts of  Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Technical Committee on COVID-19 in containing the pandemic in the state.

She assured the people of the state that the materials will be distributed accordingly and will get down to the students in the three senatorial districts stressing that the ministry will also ensure monitoring and compliance in line with Covid-19 protocols.
