The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, says it will sustain the call for the emergence of Nigerian President of Igbo extraction ahead of 2023 general election.

Speaking during a symposium staged by the National Forum for South East Presidency (NFSEP) held in Awka, the National Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Ogene, said agitations for Igbo presidency should be given due consideration.

I urge every Igboman, groups and associations to continue to talk about this project until it is actualized. It is obvious that it is the turn of South East to produce the next president of Nigeria” Ogene said.

He added that the actualization of the project would go a long way to assuage the feeling of marginalization, political imbalances and secessionist struggles by the zone in the nation’s scheme of things.
