The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has felicitated with the Wife of the Senate President, Dr Mrs Unoma Akpabio, as she marks her 54th birthday, describing her as “a visionary leader, compassionate humanitarian and a beacon of hope for the less privileged.”
In a heartfelt message issued in Abuja, Comrade Ike, who also serves as Director of News at Advocate Broadcasting Network (ADBN), praised Dr Akpabio for her selfless contributions to national development, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and community upliftment.
Dr. Mrs. Akpabio has consistently shown an unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of vulnerable Nigerians. Ike noted. “Her initiatives—ranging from scholarships for underprivileged children and free medical outreach programmes to vocational training for women and grassroots development—have left a lasting impact across communities.”
Particularly lauded were her philanthropic efforts in Akwa Ibom State, where she has funded life-saving medical treatments, awarded numerous scholarships, and supported various local government projects aimed at improving the welfare of the underserved.
“Her dedication to social responsibility stands as a shining example of civic leadership and empathy,” Comrade Ike stated. “In an era where compassion is needed more than ever, Dr Mrs Akpabio embodies the spirit of service and integrity.”
As the celebrant marks another year of purposeful living, the NUJ FCT Chair extended warm wishes on behalf of the journalism community.
