The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has signed the 2021 budget of N115,722,814,343.31.
After the signing it in Lafia on Wednesday, Governor Sule appreciated the Speaker and his members for according to the 2021 Appropriation Bill the desired relevance and attention resulting in an early passage of the proposal into law.
“I commend this synergy and partnership towards our collective responsibility to provide leadership and execute policies and programmes for the progress and development of our dear State,” he said.
Governor Sule further said that “the signing into Law of the 2021 Budget will afford us once again, the opportunity to begin the constitutional 12-months Budget circle implementation commencing from 1st January –31st December 2021.”
He urged the people of Nasarawa State to continue to comply with the protocols for the control of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic by constant wearing of face masks, regular hand washing, persistent use of hand sanitisers, and maintenance of social distance, among others.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Balarebe Abdullahi appreciated the Governor for the timely signing of the budget into law.
“One Hundred and Twelve point Nine billion Naira was presented to the State House of Assembly by Governor as the 2021 appropriation bill.
“After consideration and scrutiny, the House increased the budget to 115.7 billion Naira,” Mr Abdullahi stated.
The speaker further assured the Governor of the House’s determination to synergise with the executive arm, to bring development to the State.
