Governor Zulum Hosts 13th North-East Governors Forum

The Borno State Governor and Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, is hosting the five other governors of the region in Maiduguri for the Forum’s 13th regular meeting.

The visiting governors are Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Dr Agbu Kefas of Taraba and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, alongside other distinguished guests.

Welcoming his colleagues to Borno, Zulum said the state was pleased to host the regional leaders for the important meeting.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Borno State, I warmly welcome my brother governors of the region and our distinguished guests to Maiduguri for the 13th regular meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum,” he said.

The two-day meeting begins today, Friday, October 2, and ends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri.

The governors are expected to deliberate on key issues affecting the North-East, including strengthening good governance, promoting peaceful coexistence, improving security and enhancing the socio-economic well-being of people across the region.

The North-East Governors’ Forum provides a platform for regional cooperation, joint policy action and coordinated development among Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States.
