A massive blaze in the Dallol district of Ethiopia’s north-eastern Afar region has destroyed over 1,800 homes and gutted numerous businesses.
The district’s administrator, Ismail Ali said, the incident completely destroyed 600 shops, 950 restaurants, and 255 houses.
According to the administrator, “The fire has been controlled at the moment, while the cause and the casualties of the fire still remain unclear.”
The Semualo-gelabi District police said, the accident didn’t cause any fatality and investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
The Administrator said, “Efforts are now ongoing to help people affected by the disaster, calling others including the government to support the emergency response.”
