Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.
Basil emerged victorious after a stunning performance in the final round, surpassing Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, to claim the prestigious title at the pageant’s grand finale held on Saturday night in Lagos.
Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, secured the position of second runner-up, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, claimed third runner-up. Additionally, Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, rounded out the top five and was named Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.

Out of the 22 contestants who began the competition, 10 made it to the final stage, including Miss Delta, Miss Ekiti, Miss Oyo, Miss Imo, and Miss Ebonyi.
The glittering event, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, attracted a large crowd and sparked widespread excitement on social media as fans eagerly followed the competition’s final moments.
Basil succeeds Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma Adetshina, who currently holds the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
With her new crown, Basil will represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe pageant later this year, where she will compete against top contestants from across the globe.
