Members of the Osun State caucus in the House of Representatives have asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to discard what they called the “phoney results” of the alleged People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

They urged INEC to strictly follow the PDP Constitution and the Electoral Act when recognising party candidates.

The lawmakers accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of political interference and formally disowned the purported Osun PDP governorship primaries, which they claimed were conducted under his influence.

In a joint statement signed by six PDP members of the House, Bamidele Salam, Mudashiru Lukman Alani, Akanni Clement Ademola, Adewale Moruf Adebayo, Adetunji Abidemi Olusoji, and Oladebo Lanre Omoleye, the caucus expressed disappointment in Governor Makinde and warned against actions that could disrupt peace or destabilize Osun State’s political environment.

They condemned what they described as a “purported governorship primary”, allegedly organised with the help of “thugs and political jobbers” brought from Ibadan by Governor Makinde.

The caucus said it was “laughable” that the governor ignored the PDP’s established procedures for primaries, which include the election of ward ad hoc delegates and national delegates, without which no valid primary can take place.

They rejected the process that produced Adebayo Adedamola Fryo as the alleged PDP candidate for the 2026 elections, warning him not to parade himself as such, describing it as “criminal impersonation” and a provocation to PDP members in Osun State.
