Ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State, led by Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, have mobilised to close ranks, strengthen internal cohesion and ensure peaceful primaries in a renewed push for electoral victory.
At a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, which brought together party executives, elected officials and political stakeholders across the state, party leaders resolved to deepen unity, sustain internal harmony, and work collectively towards electoral victory for the APC in the state.
Governor Umo Bassey Eno, while charging stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible party primary process, emphasised the need for unity, loyalty and collective responsibility among party members.
“This meeting is called so that we can sit down and talk as a family,” Governor Eno stated.
Governor Eno also at the meeting formally consulted party stakeholders on his intention to seek re-election for a second term on the APC platform in 2027, while Senator Akpabio informed stakeholders of his intention to seek another term in the Senate representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
Governor Eno also announced the constitution of a committee to oversee the forthcoming APC State primaries.
The committee has Prince Enobong Uwah as Chairman and Envoy Nsentip Akpabio as Secretary.
Other members are Rt Hon. Kufre Edidem, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, Engr. Uwem Okoko, Hon. Chief Uno Etim Uno, Arc. Ubokutom Nya, Barr. Kemfon Neke, Obongawan Geraldine Etuk and Hon. Dr. Owoidighe Ekpoattai.
Senate President Akpabio, speaking, commended Governor Eno for fostering unity within the APC and promoting political stability in Akwa Ibom State.

Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo, described the gathering as a critical stakeholders’ meeting convened to deepen cohesion within the party ahead of the primaries and general elections.
“We must remain united. No personal interest should be greater than the collective interest of the party,” Ntukekpo charged.
He also announced that the screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective offices had been concluded successfully, describing the process as peaceful, transparent and orderly.

The renewed unity drive by Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio aligns with the broader national resolve of the APC to consolidate internal cohesion, minimise divisions ahead of party primaries and strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Observers say this development will strengthen internal unity and widely position the party for a more formidable contest in Akwa Ibom State.
