The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed the G-100-driven process aimed at forging a broad-based opposition alliance to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The party made its position known in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, describing the G-100 as a group of 100 opposition political stalwarts committed to building a united political platform capable of offering Nigerians a credible alternative.
The PDP said its decision was driven by the concerns and frustrations of Nigerians over prevailing economic hardship and insecurity, as well as the need for credible political forces to unite in the collective search for solutions to the country’s challenges.
The party’s National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, said its participation in the process was based on the expectation that it would be guided by transparency, equality, data-driven decision-making and egalitarianism.

“Our participation is anchored on the promise that the process will be hinged on the philosophical underpinnings of transparency, equality, data-driven decisions and egalitarianism. Any result birthed by a process midwifed by these virtues will certainly offer Nigerians credible leadership capable of alleviating the skyrocketing poverty and rising insecurity in the country,” Turaki said.
The PDP noted that the development was consistent with its earlier position to work with like-minded political parties, groups and organisations committed to addressing the challenges confronting the country.
The party said its participation in the inaugural meeting of the G-100 on August 31, 2026, further demonstrated its readiness to contribute to the formation of a broad-based opposition platform capable of offering Nigerians a viable alternative in the 2027 general elections.
According to the PDP, the proposed platform is expected to provide alternative political leadership capable of rebuilding Nigeria for the benefit of all citizens.
