The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has hosted a stakeholders’ dialogue with international development partners, diplomatic missions, and key institutional stakeholders at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to drive comprehensive reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking during the dialogue, the IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to building a modern, professional, intelligence-led, and accountable institution rooted in the rule of law, respect for human rights, and community partnership.
He noted that the ongoing reform agenda was focused on transforming the Force into a technology-driven and citizen-focused institution capable of responding effectively to contemporary security challenges.
The Inspector-General of Police reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to transparency, professionalism, discipline, and measurable reforms that align with global best practices while addressing Nigeria’s unique security realities.

In his remarks, the Head of the Police Reform Secretariat, Professor Olu Ogunsakin, highlighted key pillars of the ongoing reform agenda, including legal and policy reforms, election security management, leadership development, strategic stakeholder engagement, oversight systems, and community trust-building initiatives.
He further stressed the importance of international partnerships in supporting sustainable policing reforms and institutional capacity development.
The strategic engagement, which held in collaboration with the Police Reform Secretariat (PRS), brought together representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, the British High Commission, the Governments of Germany, Spain, and Slovakia, the National Institute for Police Studies (NIPS), and other development organisations committed to supporting Police reforms in Nigeria.
