Gov. Eno Demands Strict TSA Compliance Across MDAs

Glory Ohagwu, Abuja

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to strictly comply with provisions of the Treasury Single Account (TSA), warning that any form of default “will not be tolerated”.

Governor Eno gave the directive during the May edition of the Government House Monthly Prayer Service at the Latter House Chapel, Government House, Uyo.

The Governor disclosed that the State has recorded significant improvement in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), commending facilitators of the TSA initiative for their commitment and positive results.

According to him, “Our target is to generate enough IGR to pay salaries and reduce overdependence on federal allocation.”

He stressed the need to “correct systemic errors and strengthen institutions that will outlive any single administration”.

On the political atmosphere in the state, Governor Eno assured that the All Progressives Congress primary election would be “free and fair, devoid of intimidation or harassment”, insisting that all aspirants and supporters should remain within their respective wards to sustain peace and order.

The Governor also announced that the Youth Friendly Centre in Oron Local Government Area would be commissioned on May 26, 2026, as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.

He explained that the facility is designed to meaningfully engage young people and promote youth development in the area.

Governor Eno further disclosed that the three-day prayer conference earlier scheduled to usher in the fourth year of his administration will now hold from June 1 to 3, 2026, at the International Christian Worship Center.

Appreciating God for the peace currently enjoyed across the State despite political activities, he urged religious leaders and Christians to continue praying for sustained peace and stability.

Delivering a sermon titled “Keep Not Silent”, drawn from Isaiah 62:6-7, Senior Pastor of Believers Assembly, Apostle Daniel Ekong, charged Christians to rise against evil and forces working against the peace and progress of the State.

He described the scripture as “a divine mandate” for Christians to speak against evil, warning that “silence will bring disaster and pains”, while consistency in prayer would attract “peace, liberty, justice and blessing” to the people.
