The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has reaffirmed its commitment to youth leadership development and stronger collaboration between academia and industry through the Executive Industry Immersion Challenge (EIIC) programme.

The EIIC programme was organised in partnership with the Nile Business School, Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja.

Industry Experience

He noted that the rapidly changing global work environment demands professionals who combine theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience.

According to him, the Executive Industry Immersion Challenge provides participants with firsthand exposure to institutional governance processes and leadership responsibilities within the public sector.

Mr. Sunday also reiterated the commitment of the NDIC to maintaining financial system stability and strengthening depositor confidence as a critical financial safety-net institution.

He urged participants to embrace values such as integrity, transparency, ethical conduct and good governance, stressing that public confidence in institutions can only be sustained when such principles consistently guide their operations.

The Project Coordinator of the programme and Director, Research, Policy and International Relations Department of the NDIC, Mr. Ibrahim Aliyu, explained that the immersion challenge was deliberately designed as an experiential learning platform aimed at bridging the divide between theory and industry practice.

Also speaking, the Dean of the Nile Business School, Professor Hauwa Lamido, represented by Dr. Festus Ekechi, said the choice of the NDIC for the programme was informed by the Corporation’s reputation for professionalism, sound corporate governance and integrity within Nigeria’s financial system.

He assured that lessons from the programme would be integrated into the institution’s curriculum to enhance practical learning and leadership development among students.

He added that the programme reflects growing efforts by institutions and industry stakeholders to equip future leaders with the practical knowledge and ethical values required for national development.
