APC Records Massive Turnout in Anambra Presidential Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State recorded a massive turnout on Saturday during its presidential primary election, with party leaders describing the exercise as a reflection of growing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 General elections.

Party members turned out in large numbers across wards in the Anambra North, Central and South Senatorial Districts, while electoral officials arrived shortly afterwards for the commencement of voting.

The primary election was conducted peacefully across most parts of the state,” according to party officials and observers who monitored the exercise.

Speaking after touring several voting centres, the APC Chairman in Anambra State, Senator Emma Anosike, expressed satisfaction with both the turnout and the conduct of the election.

He described the exercise as evidence of renewed grassroots support for the ruling party in a state traditionally regarded as an opposition stronghold.

Anosike said; “This is a new dawn for our party in Anambra State. As I moved around the wards, I was overwhelmed by the turnout. Even members of other political parties were surprised by the number of people who came out to vote.”

He attributed the increased participation to sustained mobilisation efforts and the party’s membership registration drive, which he said had strengthened the APC’s grassroots presence across the state.

Anosike said that “the turnout reflected growing support for President Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.”

According to him, the successful conduct of the primary demonstrated that the party was positioning itself as a stronger political force in Anambra State.

The APC chairman also dismissed claims by opposition parties that the ruling party lacked influence in the state, insisting that the APC remained focused on expanding its support base ahead of future elections.

Anosike commended the Presidential Primary Election Committee and the Anambra State Coordinator and Collation Officer, Senator Uche Ekwunife, for what he described as their professionalism and commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible process.

He urged party members to sustain their mobilisation efforts and remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling on supporters to work collectively toward securing victories for the APC at all levels.
