A prominent women’s group in Nigeria, Al-Mu’minaat Organisation, has condemned the reported abduction of staff and pupils in Oyo State, describing the incidents as disturbing and unacceptable.
In a press release signed by the Amirah of the organisation, Hajiah Jelilah Abdulhameed, the group called on security agencies and the government to take urgent steps to secure the safe release of all those abducted.
The organisation said the growing cases of kidnapping involving schoolchildren and teachers pose a serious threat to the safety and emotional well-being of families and communities.
“It is highly disturbing that innocent teachers and learners are subjected to such trauma and abuse in a country that prides itself as the giant of Africa,” the statement read.

The group noted that Islam strongly upholds the sanctity of human life and condemns all forms of violence, oppression, and injustice, especially against children and innocent citizens.
Quoting verses from the Qur’an and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the organisation stressed the importance of compassion, mercy, and the protection of vulnerable members of society.
The Al-Mu’minaat Organisation also called on relevant authorities to strengthen child protection measures and improve security within communities and schools.

The group urged parents, schools, religious institutions, and community leaders to remain vigilant and educate children on safety awareness, while encouraging members of the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The organisation further prayed for the safe return of all abductees and for lasting peace and security across the country.
