The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Garba Aiki Rabi’u, as the winner of the bye-election for the Zuru Constituency seat in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, conducted on Saturday.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Muhammad Bashar Danladi of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, announced the results in Zuru on Saturday night.

Professor Danladi said Garba Aiki Rabi’u of the APC secured 4,871 votes to defeat Aliyu Galadima Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who polled 168 votes.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kebbi State, Abubakar Dambo Sarkin Pawa, witnessed the declaration of the results in Zuru.
The Zuru Constituency seat became vacant following the death of the former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, who represented the constituency until his demise.
