PDP BoT Declares Crisis Over, Focuses on Rebuilding Party

By Hudu Yakubu Abuja

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the party has moved beyond a prolonged period of uncertainty caused by persistent litigation, adding that it is now focused on rebuilding and will emerge stronger.

The Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday. He said last Friday’s judgement of the Federal High Court should convince those who are yet to accept the party’s current leadership to acknowledge the new reality within the PDP.

Senator Ohuabunwa welcomed the court’s ruling, describing it as consistent with an earlier judgement of the Supreme Court.

He said that, as the conscience and moral compass of the party, the Board of Trustees fully respects and accepts the Federal High Court’s judgement and remains committed to upholding the rule of law.

The BoT chairman also described anyone claiming to be the chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees as an impersonator, warning that such individuals would face legal consequences.

He called on party leaders to embrace reconciliation and collective responsibility, stressing the need for the PDP to strengthen its internal structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Ohuabunwa further assured party members that the necessary steps would be taken to reinforce the party’s unity, stability and preparedness for future electoral engagements.
