President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian medical professionals in the diaspora to return home and support the country’s healthcare system and national development.
The President appealed while receiving members of the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations, led by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, at the State House in Abuja.
Commending the delegation for their commitment, Tinubu said their decision to give back to Nigeria would strengthen efforts to improve healthcare and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“There is nowhere like home. Your coming to help is immeasurable,” the President said, adding that future generations would benefit from the foundation being laid today.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an environment where Nigerians can thrive, stressing that poverty and underdevelopment remain major obstacles to national progress.
“Poverty is not acceptable. We will fight it. We will bring prosperity and better care to our people,” he said.
The President also said Nigeria could overcome its development challenges through collective effort, improved education, quality healthcare and sustained economic growth.
He acknowledged that Nigeria’s democracy is still evolving but expressed confidence that the country remains on the path to stability, prosperity and national renewal.
Tinubu added that “his administration would continue strengthening democratic governance while leveraging Nigeria’s ethnic, religious and professional diversity to drive sustainable development”.
