The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has directed the immediate closure of the Secretariat of the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on the Sale of Federal Government Houses (SFGH) in the FCT.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, said Mr Wike had also approved the creation of a division within the Department of Land Administration to handle matters relating to the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT.
The functions were previously handled by the now-dissolved Ad-hoc Committee. The Secretariat had remained operational after the committee completed its assignments to address issues arising from its activities.
With the formal closure of the Secretariat, members of the public are advised to direct all enquiries and matters relating to the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT to the Department of Land Administration.
The statement also warned members of the public to be cautious of individuals posing as staff, officers or members of the dissolved committee or its secretariat.
It stressed that neither the Ad-hoc Committee nor its Secretariat is still in existence.
