The Osun State Governor has reiterated his support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, stated this on Sunday when he visited Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo, the state capital.
Senator Basiru said the visit was to congratulate Governor Adeleke on his victory in the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.

“I also came to thank him for endorsing my leader and our presidential candidate. To also say that we are ready to work together to ensure that we deliver Osun massively for President Bola Tinubu.
“According to the governor, he is not only endorsing the president for 2027, but he will also be on the field to campaign vigorously for President Bola Tinubu for the January 16 presidential election.“
Sen. Basiru described Adeleke’s conduct as a demonstration of virtues associated with the people of Osun.
Governor Adeleke, who recently won the election on the platform of the Accord Party, had previously declared his support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“Definitely, you can see from the last contest, my party performed creditably well in that election, scoring 46% of the votes. In between the Accords and the APC, we have close to 1 million votes, and with the presidential election, I think we should be looking to work together for about 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu.
“Of course, we are working together to fuse the Accord Party structure to be part of President Tinubu’s campaign. You can see that in APGA, for instance, in Anambra State, he is working seriously for our success and also in some other states too, you also see people across the length and breadth working for President Bola Tinubu.
“In Rivers State, for instance, the FCT Minister, even though he is in PDP, is also working to support the president.
“In Ekiti, you also see Dr Wole Oluyede, the candidate of the PDP, already forming a coalition to work with us. So what we are doing is to ensure that we have widespread support for President Bola Tinubu across our party and our line,“ he said.
