The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), South East, has called for stronger collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to promote accountability, transparency and a business-friendly environment in the region.

The Association’s South East Chairman, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, made the call shortly after President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the EFCC’s Awka Directorate in Anambra State.

The President was represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

Chukwudozie said; “the establishment of the directorate presented an opportunity for manufacturers to strengthen engagement with the anti-graft agency and promote an environment conducive to business growth.”

“As a productive enterprise, we require strong institutions, and the EFCC is here to work within the framework of accountability, transparency and predictability, and ostensibly to prevent crimes of all sorts,” she said.

She expressed hope that the new directorate would support enterprise and contribute to economic development.

“I think the Awka Zonal Directorate is going to be beneficial to all of us, and we pray that this office will be a symbol of service that will strengthen enterprise and our collective prosperity,” she said.

Chukwudozie reaffirmed the association’s commitment to dialogue, regulatory compliance and attracting businesses that would contribute to economic development.

She also urged officials of the commission to engage constructively with the private sector while carrying out their responsibilities.

“We hope that the officials will discharge their duties with professionalism, fairness and integrity and consult the private sector to engage us constructively,” she said.
