The Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), South-South Zone, Mr Ochielegor Idagbo has called on the people of Cross River State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu in the 2027 general elections.
Idagbo made the call when members of the Prince Otu Community Development Initiative (POCDI), led by its National President, Mr Joseph Kanu, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
He urged them to support All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

Idagbo commended POCDI for its grassroots mobilisation efforts, urging the organisation to sustain its activities across the state.
The National President of POCDI, Mr Joseph Kanu, said “the initiative was mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election and Governor Otu’s second term.”
He said “the initiative would continue to engage voters at the grassroots and highlight what it described as achievements of the Tinubu administration in sectors including agriculture, education and infrastructure.”
Kanu urged supporters to intensify mobilisation ahead of the elections.
“We need to double our efforts. This is the time to work, go home and galvanise our people, educate them and let them understand why they should vote for Asiwaju as Nigerian President and Prince Bassey Otu as Cross River State Governor in 2027,” he said.
He acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians but said the administration had recorded achievements that should be communicated to voters.
Kanu also said Cross River State’s return to oil-producing status would be remembered as one of Governor Otu’s significant achievements.
He urged the people to come out in large numbers to vote during the elections.
The Organising Secretary of POCDI, Mr Raymond Uno, said the initiative had established chapters and coordinators across the 18 local government areas of Cross River State.
He said the group also had coordinators in several other states and had participated in the continuous voter registration exercise by mobilising members to register in their respective local government areas.
Uno said the initiative would continue to encourage members to collect their Permanent Voter Cards when they become available.
The visit was part of POCDI’s stakeholder engagement and mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
